When looking to transform your home without spending a fortune, it is essential to be creative and find ingenious solutions. Regardless of the context, improving your living space can have a significant impact on your well-being and morale. In psychoanalysis, the house is, moreover, considered as our third envelope, after the skin and the garment. Hence the importance of making its interior a haven of peace, a refuge to relax and move forward.

To ensure that your home is in line with your current YOU, here are 5 actions you can take to beautify your interior on a low budget:

1° Make room by sorting

Are your spaces cluttered with furniture, trinkets, books, magazines…? Feeling oppressed by objects around you? Sort out your belongings! Sorting will allow you to free up space in your cabinets, drawers and different rooms. After this decluttering, you will keep what you love, what is useful and what makes you happy. You will then determine the right place for each object.

This new organization will bring you more serenity and efficiency. So that it is perennial, do not let magazines pile up on the coffee table in the living room, dishes accumulate in the sink or coats hang out in the entrance hall. Make a habit of storing things directly after use. Similarly, don’t let mail pile up on your desk. Open it and process it at a fixed interval. You will feel a thousand times better after that!

2° Paint your walls

You find that your walls are faded, that the color lacks peps? Revitalize your walls by changing the color. Before you start, think carefully about the choice, because color plays an important role in the atmosphere and our interactions with ourselves and with others. Colour influences our morale, our ability to concentrate, to relax or, conversely, to activate. That is why, in interior design, it is customary to divide the color diagram into two families:

  • On the one hand, the cold colors (blue, green, purple) that are appreciated for their relaxing virtues
  • On the other hand, warm colors (such as red and yellow) that bring light, heat, energy

To structure a room and create a well-defined atmosphere, you can also combine wallpaper on one of the wall panels. This can give a very nice effect. go!

3° Customize your furniture

Do you have furniture (chests of drawers, cupboards, sideboard, etc.) that you hold but you find them dull, soulless? You don’t know what to do with it? Give them a new life by letting your creativity express itself. Customise them By giving them a new look, you will appreciate them again and you will be proud of the work done.

Different techniques exist: by painting them in the color you like, by applying wallpaper, by using stickers or stencils, by changing the handles… Your furniture will now match your style and blend perfectly with your room. In short, a makeover to your taste at a lower cost!

4° Play on the details

You want to embellish your interior, but you lack ideas? So, opt for affordable decorative elements that will bring warmth and personality to your living spaces such as:

  • A nice plaid on your sofa
  • Nice cushions on your sofa
  • Mirrors to visually enlarge rooms
  • A new carpet in your living room
  • A beautiful design lamp placed near the entrance
  • New curtains to your windows
  • Houseplants on your shelves
  • Candle holders placed in different places
  • Frames on walls (photos, paintings, etc.)

5° Invest in versatile objects

Would you rather invest in new furniture or accessories? Check out second-hand stores. You could have a heart cost for a cheaper piece of furniture. Choose multi-function objects to save space such as:

  • A sofa bed: it offers both a relaxation area and an extra bed for guests.
  • A coffee table with storage: a table with drawers or storage shelves is handy to keep your living room organized.
  • Stackable stools: these can be used as extra seats when you have guests. Once the stools are stacked, you save space.
  • Modular shelves: these can be adjusted according to your needs and available space. You can use them to store books, decorative items or even as a workspace…

By improving your interior by personal touches, you will quickly feel the benefits on your morale. You will have increased your self-confidence and regained positive energy to embark on new projects. What are you waiting for?
