Men in the XXIst Century-Video of the GWMH Webinar-20th March 2025
A Comprehensive Approach to Gender Equality
20 March 2025-12h00-13h15 Roundtable
As we mark the first quarter of the 21st century, a crucial voice has been notably absent from gender equality discussions: men’s perspectives and experiences. While progress has been made in advancing women’s rights and opportunities, it’s time to examine men’s views in the ongoing journey towards gender equality.
We seek to highlight the stories of men who have embraced true partnerships with their wives, navigating the complexities of balancing career ambitions, childcare responsibilities, and household management. Their stories reveal how parental roles are evolving, from fathers taking parental leave to couples making joint decisions about career moves.
These testimonials are invaluable, as they demonstrate how men adapt to changing family circumstances while maintaining their authentic selves. When men share stories of supporting their partners’ careers, they provide powerful examples of how genuine cooperation between women and men strengthens families and society.
As Brian Page, founder of Modern Husbands, aptly notes: “Life and family change, and my priorities now are to support my wife’s career ambitions and my children’s needs.” Such perspectives illustrate that the path to true gender equality requires active participation and commitment from both women and men, as well as a transformation in how we approach partnership and family life.
