I’m an entrepreneur, I love it and it’s my choice. I’ve followed all the training courses to the letter, I respect the financial plans, I practise the ‘law of abundance’, I have an ironclad mindset and I master the laws of marketing like nobody else!.In short, I tick all the boxes of the good student. And yet… Some women entrepreneurs ask themselves: “Why isn’t my business taking off? Where does this paralysis, this feeling of being ineffective, come from? With the added bonus of disappointment, a drop in confidence, disillusionment, sadness, and even the prospect of putting the key under the doormat. Have you ever experienced this emotional tsunami? If your answer is ‘yes’, it might be time to look at your perception of money, especially if you’ve never thought about this not-so-sexy issue.

Here’s a little exercise:

Take some banknotes out of your wallet and look at them. How do they make you feel? What feelings or sensations (even physical ones) come to you immediately, just like that, without thinking? Anything at all? A feeling of security or freedom? A feeling of disgust or injustice? Look at them more closely. Where do you find these elements on him? On the front, the back, or both?

Nowhere.

The objective reality of a banknote is that it is paper, nothing more, nothing less!

But you see something else. That something is not him, but YOU. This is called projection.

So far, so good.

Where it starts to get annoying is when your life, your projects, your aspirations, your desires, your private and professional investments find themselves handicapped, diminished or aborted. Or worse, wiped off the map by these projections. All the more so when they are accompanied by obstacles, blockages and other glass ceilings. Just to keep you locked in. But if you want a sustainable business, you need to open that lock. And the doors that have been closed until now. Let’s face it: if you see money as an endless source of hassle or as a serial killer, that’s bad news for your business, because the way you look at it determines what you experience. Clearly, there’s some introspective work to be done here: uncover AND clean up several layers:

How do I feel about money?
How do I behave around it?
Like a squirrel, hoarding for security, like a self-sabotaging woman keeping money at arm’s length, or like someone who saves and then something always happens. Which of the 3 reminds you of someone?

What is my personal history with money? What important things have I seen, heard or experienced that have had an impact on me in relation to money?

Bankruptcies, bailiffs at the door, a family torn apart by inheritance, theft? Phrases like “money is not for us” or “the rich are inevitably dishonest”, “salesmen are swindlers”…?If this is your experience, it’s clear that you have little chance of becoming rich, calmly and guilt-free. Who would want to be considered dishonest or a swindler in the eyes of their family? Against the backdrop of these possible feelings, we have all built up a straitjacket of beliefs, family loyalties and repetitive patterns that are totally unconscious but very much present. hanging your perception of money is a way of shattering this armour. Break through the ceilings, the behaviours that confine you to the “backyard”. Because you weren’t allowing yourself to expand. Living with a peaceful perception of money means allowing yourself to take back responsibility for your life. A 100%. The direction you want for yourself! It means allowing yourself to be successful. To shine. To appreciate your own power. To value who you are and what you do. No matter how others look at you.  It means allowing yourself to dare, to undertake, to invest, to create, to live your life without the need for external validation.

Who’s better placed than you to know what’s right and good for you?

Notice this unexpected aspect of the relationship with money? It’s a lot less about “peanuts” and a lot more about you! Every time you talk about money, you’re really talking about yourself. Just like the rest of us!

This “YOU” is not to be understood in the selfish sense of the term, but in its altruistic vision. The conviction that you are part of a whole. That without your deployment, without your personal and concrete contribution made possible by your new way of looking at money, the world would be an orphan. Whatever the future of money – virtual, total disappearance, replacement by barter – it doesn’t matter. The underlying issue has little to do with this particular medium.

But it has a lot to do with loving yourself, your life, your clients, your project, your self-esteem and your confidence in yourself and in life. Factually, you’re not experiencing money (whether you have it or not), you’re experiencing your feelings about it. Which changes absolutely everything. You can’t change the objective reality of money, but you can perfectly well change the way you feel about it. A different feeling drawn from the same contact with reality then becomes our new reality. Your new reality.

Personally, I’ve tried it and I’ve adopted it!

Adopt it or not, game changer or status quo, it’s up to you.
