Mariolina Ceriotti Migliarese is a doctor, child psychiatrist and psychotherapist. She lives in Milan, where she works as a Specialist at the Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale Melegnano-Martesana and works as a private psychotherapist for adults and couples. For many years she has been involved in training parents and teachers through conferences and articles on family issues. Married in 1973 she has six children (5 boys and 1 girl).

Mariolina Ceriotti Migliarese est médecin, pédopsychiatre et psychothérapeute. About the book

Reflection on the female condition is urgent in our time. Never until today have we been closer to understanding the equality of value between the sexes. And never have we found ourselves more distant and confused, living together in a culture that denies the value of difference. This is precisely the paradox of our world. Our accelerated time, obsessed with doing useful things, undermines women’s willingness to be welcoming and tender, as well as the natural empathy so typical of women, and their openness to life. We are witnessing a worrying split between the erotic and maternal dimensions of women, between love of oneself and love of others.

La réflexion sur la condition féminine est urgente à notre époque. Jamais jusqu’à aujourd’hui nous n’avons été aussi proches de comprendre l’égalité de valeur entre les sexes. Et jamais nous ne nous sommes trouvés aussi distants et confus, vivant ensemble dans une culture qui nie la valeur de la différence. C’est précisément le paradoxe de notre monde. Notre temps accéléré, obsédé par l’utilité, mine la disposition féminine à l’accueil et à la tendresse, ainsi que l’empathie naturelle si caractéristique des femmes, et leur ouverture à la vie.
