SAVE THE DATE-2 DECEMBER 2019-Practical Solutions for a Work Life Balance
Dear Madam,
Dear Sir,
On behalf of Global Wo.Men Hub, you are cordially invited to our very first conference to be held in Brussels on Monday 2 December 2019 from 13:30 – 17:30, at the Residence Palace-
The Global Wo.Men Hub was officially launched on line on 3 April 2019 after one year debates on the vision and the objectives. More than 200 individuals were involved in this exercise. It is now time for the members, friends and supporters of the Hub to meet physically, exchange knowledge, good practices and initiatives as well as training programmes.
The red Line of the Hub for 2019-2020 is how to achieve an effective work life balance, this in various sectors of activity. We target two crucial sectors: STEM and Digitalisation as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals number 5: achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
We are persuaded that a collaborative approach between women and men will deliver the gender equality agenda, counting on time and personal as well as collective efforts.
Thus, the mantra of the Hub is “ Women and Men are equal Partners at Work and at Home”. Hence, we promote women in partnership with men. They are indeed co-dependent.
We support the need to rebalance the private life by transforming the one-way behaviour in private life (women taking the burden of the family) towards a two-way behaviour (men and women are partner and equal in the private sphere).
We are convinced that this cultural change will take time and effort. Indeed, women and men need to learn a partnership approach, with the incentive of governmental authorities, academia and companies.
Through the panel debates of this conference, we will provide solutions for making work-life balance a reality despite the despite.
Should you have any questions about this event, please feel free to contact us via e-mail.
Thank you very much for considering this invitation and I hope that you will be able to join us.
We look forward to welcoming you on 2 December 2019!
Kind regards,
Colette Veys
